• Hello! My name is Jack Jones, I am a Freshman at San Diego State University, for right now I’m completing my general education classes but my hope in the future is to become an attorney or a lawyer.

Although I am still deciding on which type of lawyer to be, I’m at least aware of the massive workload ahead of me. Hopefully when that time comes I will be ready. Furthermore, It may seem dreamlike given the nature of the law but one of my hopes in the future is to live a quiet life at some point where the law isn’t subject to change as much as it is now. A life on a farm, or at least in a semi secluded environment where I can take care of a plethora of animals and people I knew in life could come and go, A sanctuary place almost. Moving on from my future hopes and to the present day. I have 2 dogs, one of which named Raven who is disabled and mostly cared for by my older sibling, and the other named Orria who lives at the house I currently live at. Both very lovely dogs who have been with me since I was just barely a teenager, Unfortunately they are getting older but that’s just how time works at the end of the day. In my time away from my home life and studies, I spend my days attempting to improve myself, let it be working out or creating something new, there’s always something to do. For example, I’m always trying to perfect this banana bread recipe my mom created. Here is the most similar online recipe I could find without giving away the secrets, https://www.compelledtocook.com/project/388/. Although sometimes it can be perfect, there are times where it comes out worse than expected. In addition, I try to help out those in need when I can, so on my free Saturday mornings I help with We All We Got SD, which is a mutual aid food distribution based here in San Diego. (https://www.weallwegotsd.com/news).

Even though San Diego is a beautiful place, It is not kind to those impoverished and homeless, WAWGSD, is a place where they help those in need by providing their time and resources into distributing groceries and other necessities. I think if you are able bodied and have time, It would not only help others but help yourself by devoting some time to one of these centers for assistance.

I’ve always been a person who is fond of speed and all things fast, whether it be efficiency or actual speed. Because of this I have truly loved and adored Rocket League, which is a car soccer videogame, which sounds silly but I have played it for 10+ years and just watching the game grow to what it is today, is bittersweet. When some people say, AI will take out jobs, I have witnessed genuine AI bots climb to the top of the ranks and although I love the game it is simply sad to see. https://rlbot.org/, They even have links where you can install some and then cheat. Absolutely absurd.

Despite this letdown, I am still a fan of everything speed, so snowboarding, even though there is never any snow in San Diego, Up north lies some snow and a whole lot of fun with it. I adore the feeling of the environment interacting with me at such high speed that I can feel the snow wisp at my face, and seeing the trail behind me is a beauty in and of itself. So even though I have a long ways ahead of me to become a lawyer, There is still plenty I can do and learn in the meantime.
